2018. Where to begin? It’s been quite a year, personally and professionally. This year a lot has taken place. I reached big goals, had a precious baby girl, networked, worked with some wonderful clients, made lifelong friends, flew for the first time, visited Las Vegas and traveled through new states, and so much more all in the last 365 days. I’ve experienced so much this year and it’s been amazing!
My favorite part of the year was definitely including my sweet Hattie girl to our family. She has been such a blessing and the best baby. EvaJean loves her sissy and I’m looking forward to watching them grow close in 2019. Our family feels complete. If you kept up with me on Instagram, you’ll see that Hattie is my little night owl and is typically in my lap as I edit at 2am. She keeps me entertained and focused. As long as she’s awake, I’m awake, usually working!
My business really took off in 2018. I photographed 14 weddings, and roughly 85 sessions, including, newborn, maternity, fresh48s, families, cake smashes, mini sessions and more. I learned so much, spent a small fortune on additional education, upgraded my gear, met new vendors to network with, worked with AMAZING clients and tried hard to do it all while juggling a family & household. It feels good knowing that I’ve come so far and I’ve done it on my own. Being a small business owner is tough. I’ve opened myself up for constant critique which in turn causes a lot of self doubt and being unsure if this is what I’m called to do. This is literally my passion and has been since I was a child. I promise I didn’t just pick a camera up a year ago and decide I wanted to dive deep into being a photographer or business owner for all the world to critique my every move. I love that I’m able to wake up every morning and use my talent to capture other’s memories. With that said, I’m taking a new approach so I can make sure I’m also able to capture and experience my own families memories. (& get more sleep!)
I’m praying that 2019 brings me continued success, more education, new friends and thrilling experiences. The Lord has literally had His hand in my life from the very beginning. He has known since day one what I need and what’s best for me. I will forever continue to praise Him for the immense blessings He’s so lovingly bestowed upon me and my family. I have a few goals for 2019 and I’m going to strive hard to cross them off my list. Here’s to 2019, may it be the BEST year yet!
