Where should we begin with Shelby and Chris’ classic church wedding? Gosh, this was the best wedding to end my spring/summer 2019 season. I have had such a great time getting to know them over the last year; from the whole planning process, engagement session, bridal portraits and the wedding day. They are such an amazing example of putting God first in their relationship and that could be felt throughout the whole day.
Their details were so precious, Shelby wore her grandmother’s pearl necklace and pearl ring. I love that her grandmother was able to come and join us prior to the ceremony so she could put her necklace around Shelby’s neck. Adding in a touch of sentimental family heirlooms is always my jam; I am big on all things family and it always touches my heart to see those things incorporated. I always imagine the stories those items could tell, if they could talk.
Their wedding ceremony took place at Lewis Chapel United Methodist Church. The ceremony was decorated with some of the most gorgeous florals, the cross floral arrangement was phenomenal. I am not sure how these florist create such pieces, but all of the florals from the day were top notch. Shelby and Chris’ ceremony was such a precious ceremony; my favorite silly portion was probably when the groomsmen faked losing the wedding rings or maybe it was their judges panel after the kiss! (haha!) Shelby and Chris shared in putting together a gorgeous unity cross, which is becoming one of my favorite unity pieces for ceremonies.
The day started out so beautiful, lots of sunshine and just a tad bit of that South Carolina heat. We didn’t realize it, but the bottom was about to drop once the ceremony came to an end. We made our way outside and y’all, I don’t think I have ever moved so fast for family formals in my whole career! We knocked out a good bit until this monstrous storm ran us inside. It was one for the books! But hey, rain on a wedding day is supposed to be a good thing from what I hear.
The reception was a blast! Shelby and Chris transformed a stable building/barn into the most fun wedding reception site I have ever seen! Lights were strung all across, from stable to stable, a dance floor put in place, large spindles for a cake table; one of the styles was used for a cute little photo booth with the fun instax cameras, and it was such a neat idea for a guest book, I may or may not have had a small child take my photo for the book too. (Did you guys see it? haha!)
The evening ended with a little bit of rain but we were determined to do a sparkler sendoff! I think we nailed it!
I am so glad to have met both Shelby and Chris and given the opportunity to share in such an amazing time in their lives. I cannot wait to see what fun things they accomplish as husband and wife.
Here is just a teeny tiny preview of their big day! Check out their details and all the things that made their day so amazing!
