Meet the Pipkins | Sumter, SC | San Souci Farms Wedding | 2019

Catie and Caleb’s wedding day was never short on emotions; full of sweet love, laughter, tears of joy, tears of lighthearted sadness, a little bit of silly and a whole lot of fun. The day was perfect.

Catie and her best girls all got ready at Catie’s home with the help of Destination Spa (Dana Bethea). There was not a dull moment between all the ladies and the cutest little flower girl running around with toilet paper hidden under her shirt. The girls of Destination Spa did a phenomenal job pampering Catie and her bridesmaids, everyone looked exceptionally beautiful!

We met up with Caleb and his groomsmen at San Souci Farms prior to the ceremony for their portraits. The groom and groomsmen are always so laid back and casual, it’s so interesting to see the difference between the bride and groom on their wedding day. The guys cracked jokes and broke out the cigars!

Shortly after, we made our way to Dalzell United Methodists Church. This little church was so unique and held the most beautiful glowing, natural light I’ve seen in a church. Prior to the ceremony, the nerves were starting to show in anticipation for the vows. Catie and Caleb opted to do a letter exchange before they headed down the aisle. They both wanted to keep the day as traditional as possible, instead of seeing one another for a first look, we found a spot for them to share a few words, hold hands and read their heartfelt letters to one another. *Cue the waterworks* I have been to my fair share of weddings and they are all so precious in their own ways, Catie and Caleb were so genuine, so full of love for one another. In this brief 5 minutes or less, they held hands tight and it was as if all nerves were calmed.

I’m sure there were still some butterflies as Catie was escorted down the aisle, while Caleb waited at the alter. *Cue more waterworks behind my camera*  (is it even a wedding if I don’t cry?!) As Catie approached Caleb, without a doubt, they only saw each other in that moment. The ceremony was so intimate and matchless. As soon as Catie and Caleb sealed their vows, they rushed down the aisle with the biggest smiles, ready to celebrate with all of their friends and family!

The reception is always such a fun time, everyone is usually ready to tear up the dance floor, eat some delicious food and partake in sweet toasts, recalling past times with the bride and groom. Their reception did not disappoint one bit! The event was catered by Huck and Grace Catering and Events. The hors d’oeuvres and main spread were so good; it included mozzarella and tomatoes, BBQ, a mashed potato bar, shrimp and grits and more. And what is a reception without cake? Instead of one traditional cake, Catie and Caleb had a variety of sweet cupcakes, accompanied by a three tier chocolate layer cake. If you know me, you know I love anything with sugar in it, and these cupcakes were phenomenal.

The rest of the evening, Catie and Caleb’s guests danced, mingled, laughed, reminisced, and sang along with the music. DJ J-Mitch kept everyone in attendance on their feet all night long. This crowd seriously knew how to party and have a good time. There was not a dull moment all night long, one of Caleb’s groomsmen even took over the mic and belted out the lyrics to a song, and got quite the applause! The entire night was full of life, and I am pretty sure the dance floor stayed packed all evening, up until the end of the last song played.

Catie and Caleb departed their reception amongst their guest blowing lots of bubbles! I would venture to say that they did indeed have “The Best Day Ever!”

Take a sneak peek at just a tiny portion of Catie and Caleb’s charming wedding day and leave them some words of advice as newlyweds!
