Meet Leah!

Hey there!

If you are new here, my name is Leah! I have never had a blog before, but feel the need to have an online presence for my budding business. I am so excited to share new, exciting things with you guys hopefully a few times a week; all things photography, from portrait sessions, life happenings and fun tips and more. I will try my hardest to keep it fun and informative, as well as full of beautiful photos. In the meantime, this first post is going to be all about yours truly.

So, let’s get started! I am Leah Daugherty, raised in beautiful South Carolina. Living all over the state, for the most part, my favorite place is now where I call home in Summerton. My husband, Nic and I and our new baby girl, EvaJean, love the quiet lake life; along with our yellow lab, Goose and my two cats, Beau and Mazi. We appreciate our open space and the ease of being able to relish in the simplicity that a small town allows us. Living in small town, USA has opened up an array of opportunity for me, and I am so grateful!

The Daughertys

After spending almost 5 years in school to complete my bachelor’s degree, I graduated from Francis Marion University. I worked in many studios and have worked alongside some other amazing professional photographers. I still get to second shoot with a few in the area, which is great, because though some may see us as “competition”, there’s actually a wonderful community amongst us professionals, where we can work hand in hand in this vast market/industry.

Outside of photography, I enjoy reading, mostly thrillers/suspense novels, thrift shopping with my momma, and talking politics with my daddy and facetiming with my sisters and my nieces and nephews. If you follow my personal Instagram, you may also see that I love oils and creating a toxin/chemical free home. You might see a few blog posts regarding oils here from time to time as well! Other than that, I am a pretty simple girl. I love the outdoors, vegging on the couch with my sweet girl and husband, rocking out to 90s alternative or country, ya know, balance. And, this may sound crazy, but I enjoy tidying up my house, there's nothing better than a clean house. :P

If you have taken a few minutes to check out my website, you might notice that I adore weddings! I love the butterflies that I get when it comes time for me to meet up with the bride on the BIG day! I actually may be more nervous than you on your wedding day! In most cases, I have spent almost 6 months to a year helping plan timelines, portrait lists, bridal portraits, engagements and more. I pride myself in really building a friendship with my brides, and staying in touch long after the “I dos”, to capture maternity, newborn and family portraits.

I am hoping to add on an addition soon to my website that displays the other work that I shoot. But, for now, you can see my most recent sessions on Facebook, Instagram or here in the near future!

I honestly enjoy so much of what I do. Capturing memories is very important to me. Stick around to see all the new things I have coming your way! I am so excited to take you on this journey with me!
